Here are some tips for home maintenance that are important to do in the fall.  Regular maintenance of your home can enhance your enjoyment, and in the long run you will save money.

  • Unhook your hose to prevent pipes from bursting

  • Remove sprinkler nozzles and take the nozzle and sprinkler inside. Plastic parts freeze and burst easily

  • Clean your gutters

  • Have your furnace serviced

  • Periodically clean the chimney and/or wood stove flue.  This will vary depending on use.

  • Check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

  • Make sure you have a snow shovel, salt and a sled before they sell out!

  • Clean bird feeders
